Fuerteventura belongs to the Canarian Archipelago. It can be reached by plane or by boat. Local time in May is GMT+1.

Fuerteventura Airport (IATA code: FUE) is 6 km south of Puerto del Rosario, the island's capital city. This international airport is connected by regular, charter and low-cost airline direct flights with most airports of the main European cities (less than 5 hours from the furthest European city). In case direct flights are not available, connections via Madrid (MAD), Barcelona (BCN) or Gran Canaria (LPA) are possible.

Fuerteventura is a busy turistic destination, thus it is advisable you book your flights early.

On island transportation may be either a rented car, buses or taxis. There are no trains.

Bus: Buses are locally known as Guaguas. There is a direct bus line (n. 10, Puerto del Rosario - Morro Jable) connecting the airport to Costa Calma. This bus can be catched at the airport according to this (approximate) timetable:

The fare is about 6 euros to Costa Calma. From the Costa Calma bus station to the R2 Hotel you can get a taxi (distance is about 2 km). Costa Calma can be reached also by combining bus lines (e.g. n. 3 + n. 1), please find here a complete timetable of buses in the island.

Taxi: A taxi from the airport to the R2 Hotel costs about 70 euros.

Shuttle service

The (approximate) timetable of the conference shuttle service is as follows:

In the airport there will be a LOC member (please look for the conference poster), on Saturday 18 from 11 am to 9:15 pm and on Sunday 19 from 9 am to 7 pm.

Buses to Costa Calma will stop at R2 hotel but they can make additional stops at nearby hotels (please inform the LOC member on site if you are not staying at R2 Hotel).
